FJORD TO FJORD

Day hike from one deserted fjord to another

Just below the arctic circle, there is a remote area of isolated fjords where people no longer live. It is a paradise for traveling birds staying here over the summer and one of our favorite hiking areas. This tour combines a fabulous roadtrip into a forgotten valley with a hike from one forgotten fjord to another.

Tour Description:

After a ride from Akureyri along the coastline of Eyjafjörður, we leave the asphalt for a bumpy mountain road with plenty of little streams to ford. After this amazing road trip, we continue our journey on foot. We hike from one fjord over a saddle to the next fjord on sheeptrails that are only accessible on foot. We'll have lunch in a fjord looking over the vibrant bird life in the most magnificent bay just by the polar circle. We take another coastal trail back to the other fjord and drive back to Akureyri.
