Diamond Circle

On this tour you will visit some of the most beautiful sites of Iceland. The splendour of Lake Mývatn, the sheer power of the Dettifoss waterfall, the glacial canyon Jökulsárgljúfur, the towering cliffs of Ásbyrgi, the Arctic Coastline and the beauty of the little fishing town Húsavík. All the beauty North Iceland has to offer in one unforgettable road trip.

Tour Description:

First we take you along a scenic route to Mývatn, where water and lava have sculpted fairytale-like landscapes. Then we drive over the colorful Námaskarð mountainpass to the Vatnajökull National park. We walk to Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Iceland, and the Selfoss, another waterfall further upstream. Next we drive Ásbyrgi, the Shelter of the Gods. According to local legends the 100m tall cliffs here are a footprint of the Sleipnir, the eight legged horse of the god Óðinn. When we leave the national park, we drive along the arctic coastline to Húsavík. Here we me make a short stop at the harbour to see the old wooden fishing boats that are now used for whale watching. After Húsavík, we drive back to Akureyri along another unforgettable road.
